    In this course we will learn more about the concept of Adaptive expertise. Adaptive expertise in education can be seen as the ability to apply knowledge effectively to novel problems or atypical cases in a domain without glossing over distinctive factors. 
    During a one-week course we will learn more about coaching, feedback and observation in education.

    Arrival on Sunday

    Monday: 

    • Introduction into the educational system of the host country
    • Getting to know the organization
    • Getting to know each other
    • Discuss prior knowledge of the program + intro in the Adaptive Expertise program
    • Daily reflection time

    Tuesday

    • An expert introduces Adaptive expertise and coaching
    • An expert shows good practices
    • Daily reflection time

    Wednesday

    • An expert provides more information on Adaptive expertise and feedback
    • Cultural activity in the afternoon
    • Daily reflection time

    Thursday

    • Adaptive Expertise and coaching
    • Translations to own practice
    • Daily reflection time

    Friday

    • School visit – possibility to see examples (under review)
    • Participants present their own action plan – Discuss what they can take home.

    Departure on Saturday

    • - Get to know the English education System (English participants will learn about the
         differences in other countries)

      - Will get to know how adaptive expertise is implemented in the English curriculum.

      - Learn the principles of coaching, feedback, observation  

      - Learn how schools can challenge the learning process of their students 

      - Discover how schools can implement a policy on coaching, feedback, observation,
        challenging learning environments.

      - Have the opportunity to visit some schools and to learn from each other

      - Reflect individual and collective on what they learn during the course

    Canterbury.

    1025 euro. The price does not include flight tickets from your destination to the course venue. For people travelling as participant in a Catholic Education Consortium, flight tickets are included + traveldays will be sunday (travelling to destination) and saturday (travelling back to Belgium).
